As part of Zooindustry 2026, a round table discussion titled “Taxes, product labelling and online retail: what will shape the PetIndustry in 2026?” will be held.
The event will take place on March 3, from 1:40 p.m. to 3:20 p.m.
According to zoobiznes.com, the pet products market reached 560 billion RUB in 2025, demonstrating steady growth. However, manufacturers are increasingly revising their plans to launch new products.
During the round table, participants will discuss the key trends that shaped the development of the pet industry in 2025, as well as those that continue to affect the market in 2026. Particular attention will be given to the industry’s transformation driven by digitalisation and the shift of retail towards online formats. Experts will explore the challenges and opportunities these changes create for businesses.
The impact of the product labelling system on the pet industry will be addressed as a separate topic. Participants will discuss the difficulties companies face when implementing the system and assess how effectively it meets its stated objectives.
In addition, the discussion will cover the implications of the 2026 tax reform. Experts will analyse how a two-percentage-point increase in VAT affects business models, final product prices, and the share of small businesses that are now required to pay VAT.
The round table will be moderated by Elena Krom, Editor-in-Chief of RBC St. Petersburg.
